Please remember to double check times, prices and events, as they are subject to change on any given day! Check at disneyland.com And be sure to read this entire guide, NOT just the ticket info. There are A lot of ways to save even more!!!
The next time you want to plan a trip to Disneyland remember this and try to save some money. They are RAKING it in! And believe me, they don't pass it to their employees. It's a fun place to work and it helps to pay the bills. But keep this in mind if you feel badly trying to get cheap tickets.....
For the first quarter of the year , which ended April 1, Disney reported profit of $733 million, up from the $657 million that the company earned in January, February and March of 2006. They are making PLENTY. Let's save you some money.....
Here is a way you can get in for FREE!!!!! Besides catching a guest on his/ her way out and asking them if you can have their ticket for FREE, you can get one from a cast member! That’s right, each cast member (employee of the park) is allowed to give away 4 tickets a day! I no longer give mine away, so PLEASE don’t email me and ask me. I am in full hair and make up once I get to work and it is impossible for me to meet with guests between my classes and work schedule. I don’t even give them to family anymore since it caused so many arguments. But you can catch an employee outside of the gates (trash collectors, etc) and ask them if they would be willing to give you their tickets for the day. I think it is only fair to offer them money, but that is up to you. I found the best method to be when someone asked me for my free tickets was to give them one FREE if they would give me something for another one, like $20. These tickets have ZERO value and you CANNOT trade them in for an upgraded ticket. Please keep in mind that we are NOT supposed to be giving away our tickets once we are on the clock, if you happen to catch someone willing to do it make it quick and have your cash on hand. If you already have at least one valid ticket, You can also go into the park and try to find someone who will give you their 4 free tickets while your family waits outside of the gates.
Here is the BIG secret most people don't know:
Disney LET'S you trade in tickets to get you to the next level ticket. So if your friend or neighbor just returned from Disney with their tickets, grab them! They are like gold! A used 5 day bonus park hopper has the value of $219, and you can put that towards a NEW annual pass. Even if you are only going for 3 days, that means you can add $20 to each used ticket and turn it into an annual pass! That’s 3 days at the park for $50!!!! And if you live in CA, even better, you can use that ticket all year for just the $20 you had to spend in the upgrade!!!! Let’s take it slow and let me try to explain it clearly. Don’t worry, if it’s too confusing you can call disney or go to disneyland.com and check it out. They Don’t advertise this, but it’s true!!!!
Here is a good example of how this works:
My friends got 5 FREE tickets from their friends who had just returned from Disneyland but they didn't use the last day of their 5 Day Park hopper tickets. So I said they could take them to Disneyland and trade them in for Annual Passes. This seemed to good to be true, so they called Disney just to make sure and they said sure, as long as it wasn't expired and as long as it wasn't signed on the back with someone else's name ( so you can't pick up a lost ticket off the ground, they ask people to sign the back for safety) . So they went to the gates of Disney with 5 tickets each worth $219 and traded them into annual passes by adding only $20 to each of them!
That's 5 annual passes for $100! Or only $20 a ticket! They have gone 6 times already!!! (Even if you live out of state and only go once this year, it's still the best deal. . The annual pass lets you go to any park any day without worrying about using up your days.)
So then we all got to talking about it and figured you may as well get some really cheap used tickets off Ebay and do the same thing. As I am writing this, I checked Ebay and there are used tickets for sale today starting at $1 each. We have used this method when we had relatives who wanted to go to Disneyland with us. Just bought the tickets a few weeks ahead of time.
One time we had a friend just show up who wanted to join us and didn't want to pay the full price, they came with us anyway and happened to find someone leaving the Disneyland resort that day and they just gave us their used ticket. Then they took that into the park. THEY GOT IN FOR FREE!!!! If that seems dishonest to you, of course you can spend the $229 for an annual pass, or $179 for a park hopper. But we added it up and most of us in our group spent and average of $75 on food and toys/clothes while we were there. SO they are making their money anyway.
EVEN IF YOU ARE ONLY AT THE PARK ONE DAY, IT IS STILL CHEAPER TO TRADE IN FOR AN ANNUAL PASS!!!
PLUS, if you get a park hopper, you can only use one pass for one park a day, unless you get a park hopper that let's you use it at both parks in one day. But wouldn't you want the freedom to go to any park you want at anytime? It IS cheaper to do this....
Just remember these rules so there isn't any confusion:
If you return to the ticket counter with a valid ticket before the ticket expires, Disneyland offers a FULL DOLLAR VALUE toward any Annual Pass. If you still don't understand let me explain a little better, lets say you bought a 5 day hopper pass you can apply the cost of your hopper towards the purchase of your annual pass but you have to do this before you leave the park on the last of the 5 admission days, or it will be expired.
On the last day before you leave go outside of Disneyland park, walk to the ticket booths and Tell them you want to use your ticket towards the purchase of your annual pass.
It is the same with any other ticket whether it is a one day ticket or a hopper pass you must turn it in towards the purchase of your pass on the valid admission day (which means the day that you went to the park with it) That is very important to remember! OR you may find a ticket on Ebay where someone had a 5 day park hopper and only used it for 3 days, they are selling you a ticket with 2 days left on it (most listings make it very clear what days are remaining and what date the ticket will expire).A daily adult pass for one park is $76 (current prices can be found at the Disney website www.disney.com, although I am pretty sure my listed prices are accurate.) Also for sale are 2 day passes, 3 day passes, and 5 day passes. The prices fluctuate.
Here are some price listings--------ALL TICKET PRICES JUST WENT UP BY ABOUT $20, SO THESE ARE THE NEWEST PRICES: (Any bonus listed with the ticket is only through tickets bought at disneyland.com)

Also the policy is that what ever ticket you trade in, you trade up for the next highest price for example: if you had a 3 day hopper pass that was valued at $149 you would have to trade it up for the Deluxe Passport you can't trade it for the less priced passport. Now this is the policy so I didn't want to not tell you BUT however if you get a nice person they will let it slide and give you the pass you want and then give you change (if you get any change) in Disney dollars but you have to act like you didn't know the policy.
Where are these tickets? Most people just throw them away because they don't have any use for them when they go home.
Let me prompt you in a couple of ways you may use to obtain a ticket... If it is not a ticket you purchased yourself already.
BUT if this seams too sneaky for you, you can do this. Some people sell their tickets on E-Bay in advance of their use. Many people sell the last two days three days or maybe just one day use of a multi-day hopper pass on E-Bay offering to 'meet you in person at the park' or mail it to you and then you have possession of the ticket that you can use to trade in for an annual pass. This way you feel you have not done anything sneaky, and you still save ALOT of money on your annual pass. If you bought the last day of a 5 day hopper ticket on ebay for lets say at the most $50 the trade in value of that ticket would allow you to pay less than $100 dollars on your pass that?s including the cost of the auction (that would probably be like a Deluxe or Premium pass)
But remember these things and ask the E-Bay seller before you buy if the tickets fall in these guidelines. Savings can be made that way but these are the things you need to remember.
So there you have it this information can save you at least half the price Of a ticket. If your wondering wow is this real yes it is, if you wanted you could Even call Disneyland (714)781-4400 and they would confirm you can trade in Your ticket towards your purchase of an Annual Pass.

Year Of A million Dreams: As a cast member, I am sorry to say none of us really know what this is all about. I think it has something to do with the fact that The 50 Year Anniversary is over. They need to get you back to the park somehow.....
Over the course of a year (in Disney time), Disneyland and Florida's Magic Kingdom each will pass out about 2,000 prizes a day to random guests. Disney has heavily hyped the more spectacular awards (a night in Cinderella's Castle, traveling to Disney parks around the world to star a parade, invitations to private parties, one-on-one time with princesses). But the PR team has been suspiciously silent as to what will constitute the remaining 999,000-plus "dreams."
Over the next few weeks, cast members will hear a few more details of the program. Based on our department and schedule, all will attend a mandatory two-hour orientation in the main auditorium at the Team Disney Anaheim building (the resort's corporate headquarters). The presenters will reveal how the Disney Dreams will be given away and unveil the new shows, attractions, merchandise and "celebration buttons."
The "special wishes" will be granted by "Dream Squad" cast members, wearing blue shirts and pants with a white vest. At random, they'll award guests with "dreams" such as "special pin lanyards, VIP admissions to shows, or DreamEars-mouse ears with blue sky and clouds on them," said an employee attending one of the first orientations. "Cast members have to apply for the position, and the exact procedures on how the dreams will be given away were very vague." He described the overall presentation as "painful."
A new "Pixie Dust Pin" program will help create opportunities for guest interaction with cast members who didn't make the Squad. Regular employees will award guests with two identical Tinker Bell pins—one for the guest to keep and the other for the guest to give to another guest.
"Everything was really underwhelming," remarked another cast member who sat through the presentation. "Nothing that would strike you as new or interesting info. It was all stuff that's been going around, you know, suites, Golden FastPass, food, etc. The Golden Fastpass is pretty silly, though; on slow days it's useless. It is a small square that says 'Golden FastPass' with tabs go around it. Each tab has a FastPass attraction name. So I imagine it's just one use per attraction. Definitely a bummer compared To the 50th promotion."
Cast members also caught a peek at the new employee nametags: white or silver with a castle-in-the-clouds at the top. So the design can be used on both coasts, the castle looks like a cross between Disneyland's and Disney World's. In fact, whereas the 50th anniversary featured gold everywhere, the new promotion's primary color scheme will consist of sky blue, white and silver. The first merchandise tie-ins—clothing imprinted with a generic "Disney Parks: Where Dreams Come True"—arrived at the Emporium late last week.
New merchandise has begun to appear featuring a new, generic, and pretty boring logo.
As well, new celebration buttons were shown off. There are redesigned favorites (Happy Birthday, My 1st Visit, Happy Anniversary, Just Married, Honorary Citizen), plus several new occasions.
But more than sharing too many secrets, the presenters spent most of their Time reminding cast members how to treat guests properly to make their stay a pleasant one. Each cast member was handed a brochure that outlined the basics of the promotion, but emphasized that they should plan ways "to interact with guests, as well as spontaneous opportunities to initiate guest interaction." The idea was to give every guest a "transformational experience."
As part of the Year of a Million Dreams, beginning October 1 2006, Disneyland will be receiving three new interactive shows—all currently playing at Walt Disney World. The Tomorrowland Terrace will play host to the Jedi Training Academy, the Fantasyland Theatre will receive the Princess Fantasy Faire, and Disney's California Adventure's parade corridor is getting the High School Musical Pep Rally.
One performer, however, had heard that "Block Party Bash will be cut in half to accommodate the High School Musical Pep Rally. Sounds like Block Party Bash will become a Driveway Afternoon Party."
Monorail of the Future
The Monorail closed two weeks ago to begin relocating the Tomorrowland station's elevator, entrance and exit ramps, better accommodating the return of the Submarine Voyage. Monorails should be back in service by Christmas.
Then, in the spring, expect the first of an entire new fleet. Workers in the Roundhouse were recently shown illustrations of the new design. "It is a combination of the current design and 'Old Red,'" said one source. "The driver will be sitting in a cockpit blister. It is still unknown if it will Be completely automated, which is something that is hotly debated. The Monorail drivers still prefer having some kind of control."
Although not evident from the drawings, rumors are that the seating has been totally reconfigured to increase capacity.
Finding Nemo's Submarine Voyage remains on track for a summer completion. Rockin' Space Mountain and Rockin' California Screamin' should power up in the spring. In the evenings, the music for both roller coasters will switch "to new soundtracks and technology... both attractions will temporarily transform into unique rock'n'roll experiences with music that will be custom choreographed to heighten the experience with every twist and turn." Leftovers
And, as successful as the Golden Anniversary promotion has been, Merchandise cast members report that there is such a large surplus of unsold 50th trinkets, that the majority of it will be destroyed once pulled from the shelves. Wait! Call the Dream Squad! Those excess golden ears must be somebody's idea of a "once-in-a-lifetime experience"!
Red Hot Chili Peppers, recently nominated for six Grammy awards, are red hot and their music will temporarily transform Space Mountain at Disneyland and California Screamin’ at Disney’s California Adventure into new rock n’ roll adventures. As part of the “Year of A Million Dreams” celebration at Disneyland Resort, rock fans’ dreams will come true as Rockin’ Both Parks provides new special effects and soundtracks specifically remixed to heighten every twist, turn, rise and drop of each thrilling attraction.
For a limited time (from January 3 through April 26, 2007), guests will experience Space Mountain like never before. The high-speed interstellar adventure, that has captivated Disneyland guests since the 1970s, will temporarily have an all-new twist. Rockin’ Space Mountain fans will find the attraction sporting new technology that features illuminated dancing rock fans, more than 200 lights brightening the track and a brand-new, customized soundtrack by Red Hot Chili Peppers. The band’s famous song, “Higher Ground,” which was a 1989 hit version of the Stevie Wonder original tune, will create an out-of-this-world rock adventure. Along with new technology and lighting, all systems are a go.
Riders of Rockin’ California Screamin’ at Disney’s California Adventure will also twist and turn to a new soundtrack. With a specially customized version of Red Hot Chili Peppers’s 1999 hit “Around the World,” guests will rock through the attraction’s 6,000 feet of track. The four-minute ride is the world’s longest steel looping roller coaster and takes guests from zero to 55 miles per hour in just four seconds.
Rockin’ Space Mountain and Rockin’ California Screamin’ are just some of the highlights of the “Year of a Million Dreams” celebration that began at Disneyland Resort in Southern California and Walt Disney World Resort in Florida on October 1. For 15 months, Disney Parks are celebrating dreams coming true, making literally millions of dreams, large and small, come to life for eligible guests through the Disney Dreams Giveaway. Many money-can't-buy experiences—from exclusive Dream FASTPASSES for popular Disney attractions to around-the-world vacations or a stay in the special Mickey Mouse Penthouse at the Disneyland Hotel—are being awarded at random. In addition to the Disney Dreams Giveaway, guests are enjoying all new immersive entertainment experiences at the resort. At Disneyland Park, guests are meeting, playing and learning their royal ways with Disney Princesses at Disney Princess Fantasy Faire, dueling with Darth Vader at Jedi Training Academy and creating mayhem with Pirates in New Orleans Square. At Disney’s California Adventure Park, guests young and old are bopping to the beat and joining in the fun of the High School Musical Pep Rally. The Year of a Million Dreams celebration lasts through 2007.
HOTELS:
The Grand California Hotel is on average $425 a night right now!!!! The Disneyland Hotel is between $200 and $300!! Check current rates at Disneyland.com.
There are a lot of other, less expensive options:
Our friends new favorite hotel they just returned from this week is The Anabella hotel.
It was $56 a night (one bed, off season) and really nice,
maybe 10 years old at the most and had free parking,
granite Bathrooms, refrigerator, and free coffee and newspaper in your room. It was about an 8 minute walk down Disneyland drive to get to the park, but WELL worth it. They put the kids on the floor in sleeping bags.
They are so tired they sleep anywhere!
Book at http://www.anabellahotel.com/
There are also 2 hotels ACROSS from the gates of Disneyland other friends have used. CHEAP , but old......
You literally walk across the street and you are there. I think they are even closer than the Disney hotels. They are just average hotels, kind of old and a bit smelly but who stays in the room anyway? (They pack a travel candle to get rid of the old hotel room smell.)
The first is The Desert Inn and is usually $56 a night, you can check rates at anaheimdesertinn.com or try to beat them at travelocity.com.
The other is The Ramada and is $89 a night. You can check rates at ramadamaingate.com. Again, when booking hotels,
I would FIRST check:
Travelocity.com,
cheaptickets.com,
mousesaver.com,
AAA.com ( plus it has a lot of Disney area info)
Costco.com,
And even Delta.com (they are the official airline for Disney and have cheap packages too).
A few more close hotels that are cheap and average AND offer discount tickets are:
Howard Johnson Anaheim Hotel (www.hojoanaheim.com), free parking and shuttle for small cost.
Park Inn Suites (www.tropicanainn-anaheim.com ),
free continental breakfast. (Put some extra fruit and bread in your bag for a snack later while you are stuck in line and they kids are hungry!)
Tropicana Inn (www.tropicanainn-anaheim.com).
Candy Cane Inn (www.candycaneinn.net 800.345.7057),
free parking PLUS free continental breakfast.(remember to grab a few extra goodies to save on food!)
And don't forget, if you have any timeshare ANYWHERE, they may take your points at Disney area condos, hotels and resorts.
(You may even have a relative that has a timeshare they don't use and you can ask them for their points to use at Disney)
Once you buy an annual passport, you will need the ticket to get into the park and then they will tell you to go to The annual passport line inside the park for a photo id ticket. The counter is right at the beginning of the park (inside the park) at the start of Main street,
at the right hand side.
Check the line when you walk it, it will probably be VERY long. Or WAIT until the end of the day to do this,
otherwise you will be stuck in that line for an hour or more. Wait until park closing time or during a parade or firework show and then run over there. Maybe just ask an employee to make sure they don't close that counter early that day.( You need to get that id ticket THE DAY you go into the park with your annual passport ticket for the first time!!!!!!!!!!)
Keep this in mind when you book your hotel!!!
For those of you who have never been to Disneyland or you haven't been since they added on California Adventure and Downtown Disney. Check out this map before you go so you can be familiar with the area and plan your trip in a more organized manner: http://www.solarius.com/dvp/dl/disneyland-map.htm
There are two shuttles that run from John Wayne airport & LAX:
Airbus (www.airportbus.com ) 800.938.8933 -Supershuttle (www.supershuttle.com)
TIP: If you are an early riser, Almost every morning the gates of Disney are opened an HOUR early! For everyone!!! This is because they have to let the people into the park with early entrance tickets. For you, this means you can shop on Main Street or have breakfast an hour before the park actually opens (They barricade the end of Main Street so you can’t actually get onto the rides unless you have an early entrance ticket) This is also a great time to go in early and plan your day and take a bunch of photos so you don’t waste any time once inside the main park.
NOTE: There are security check points EVERYONE MUST go through before you even get to the ticket booths or entrance lines to the park now. Getting into the park can take a LONG time some days. Plan on going an hour early. If for some reason you are lucky enough to speed through the lines, remember that the park is most likely open early anyway. Grab a daily calendar and plan your day. OR go to the Main street café for one of the refillable coffee cups! (See below).
FREE SODA!
For free soda refills on drinks and a bit of a rest from the noise, go across the street from Disney to McDonalds, or walk to downtown Disney and go to the walk-in pizza kitchen. A slice of pizza is $4 and you get free refills.
We often eat at the pizza port near space mountain. Drinks are self serve. I have asked on two occassions about drink refills in there. Once they told me you are allowed one refill and then another time they just said yes you could refill. We ate at Pilots grill yesterday and they said no refills at all which was awful after paying 2.75. Next time I'll go back to pizza port if we need to eat.
FREE COFFEE!
You can get free coffee refills with the plastic mug you purchase at the Blue Ribbon Bakery on Main Street right inside the main entrance gates. Not extraordinarily cheap, but the mug portion is “free” and provides a daily reminder of your trip when you use it for your daily coffee consumption back home. The souvenir mug at White Water Snacks at the Grand Californian Hotel provides free refills as well.
VEGAN:
The only two places that have a "real" meal for vegans, (that we know of for sure) are The Blue Bayou, (portabella mushrooms) and Critter Country with a vegan patty. However, ask if you need to know how they are prepared or what is in the sauce.
Disney Gift Card:
If your kids are old enough to go around the park alone for a few hours, a fun idea for" spending money " is to give them Disneyland gift cards. They come in $25, $50 and $100.
Shop, Dine, Stay and Play at the Disneyland Resort with the Disney Gift Card! It's an ideal gift for Disney fans and all occasions! Guests can use the Disney Gift Card instead of carrying cash, it's easy and is valid throughout the Resort. Use it to pay for just about anything tickets, food, merchandise, parking and even accommodations at Disneyland Resort Hotels.

If you have never been to Disneyland or you haven't gone since they added California Adventure and Downtown Disney, let me just clarify the way it is set up now. Everything is RIGHT there when you go.
See the link below for a map. You don't need to take a tram to get from Disneyland to Downtown or California Adventure. The downtown is not really a down town, it's a cute little row of Disney stores (and some non-Disney stores) with a lot of restaurants in between, it's so small there aren't any cars. It is the walking distance between the Disney hotels to the parks that used to be the parking lot but is now called "Downtown Disney". And Ca Adventure is just across the way from the main gate to Disneyland. So you literally walk over there.( I'm guessing it's 50 yards.) They still run the monorail from the hotel but it's so close it's usually faster to walk than it is to wait in line for the monorail. Most other hotels you will need to catch a Free tram for. Remember the last tram is usually a half hour after park closing, so if you go to eat at downtown Disney, you will miss the tram and could be walking back a mile or more.
Quick exit:
If you ARE at a Disney hotel, go over to where they are building the new Nemo ride and get the Monorail there back at night, it is much easier than trying to get out of the main gates (there is still only ONE way out of Disneyland!!). After the fireworks show it can be very difficult and slow going to get out, Sometimes people are literally at a stand still. They will ask you to show your Disney room key to get on the Monorail. EXTRA tip: If you have a used Disney room key from a previous trip you can show them that to get on the monorail at the Nemo ride. Ask your friends if they have a used room key of this is really important to you to get on this monorail. It has to be pretty current, not years old :O) This monorail will drop you in Downtown Disney near your hotel.
When is the best time to visit the Disneyland Resort?
Selecting the best time to visit the Disneyland Resort depends upon your interests.
If you want to visit when the number of Guests is fairly low, plan to stay mid-week (Tuesdays-Thursdays) during:
mid-September through mid- November * mid-January through mid-March * or mid-April through mid-May The benefit of visiting the Resort when number of Guests is low is that wait times are shorter and you can do more. However, Disney's California Adventure park and Disneyland park typically reduce their operating hours and parades and shows.
Also, there may be fewer entertainment and events, and attractions are more frequently closed for refurbishment.
If you want to visit while the Park has extended hours, entertainment, events and most attractions operating, plan your stay for weekends, including extended holiday weekends during: * Christmas and Spring Break * or June-August However, during these times, the number of Guests is usually increased. You may even have to wait an hour in line for something as little as the Peter Pan or Dumbo ride!
For a complete list of hours, entertainment, events and refurbishments go to the Calendar section at disneyland.com and enter the dates of your visit. Or you can contact the Disneyland Resort Information Office (714) 781-7290.
Tourist Attendance numbers and what is going on from month to month:
August: Wanna Know a Secret?
The first half of August is often as busy at the Disneyland Resort as the peak of the season in mid July.
DLR=Disneyland Resort DCA=Dsineyland California Adventure:
For the past several years, however, the last two weeks of August, especially the weekend before Labor Day, have been among the least crowded periods of the summer season. Both Disneyland and DCA are in full operation and open late. Because both parks are fully staffed for the summer season, wait times for rides are, comparatively speaking, shorter than during the peak of the season.
September: Back to School During a typical year at the DLR, both theme parks cut back staffing levels,
entertainment offerings, and operating hours immediately after Labor Day.
On weekdays, Disneyland is generally only open from 10 AM to 8 PM, with DCA open between 10 AM and 6 PM. Weekend operations are usually from 9 AM to 11 PM and 10 AM to 9 PM, respectively.
This is also one of several times during what's known as "off-season" that several of the parks' most popular attractions are taken out of service for regularly scheduled maintenance. In addition, some attractions, like Haunted Mansion and Small World, are closed for several weeks each fall while workers install holiday season overlays.
Tip: If you just can't stand crowds and long lines and don't mind missing a few rides, the period between Labor Day and the start of the Holiday Season may be the best bet .
October: The First Weekend in October The Holiday Season at Disneyland doesn't get officially underway until Thanksgiving week. However, unofficially Disneyland has become the Merriest Place on Earth a little earlier each year. It takes weeks to fully decorate Disneyland and DCA for the holidays. Holiday trimmings can be seen sprouting in various areas of both parks well before Halloween.
The real unofficial start of the holidays, for the past three years, has been the first weekend in October. It's at this time that the Haunted Mansion reemerges from its post-Labor Day closure with the Tim Burton Nightmare Before Christmas-inspired Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay. The annual opening of Haunted Mansion Holiday draws thousands of annual passport holders and locals back to Disneyland each year.
The first weekend in October is also typically the time when the biggest unofficial event of the year takes place at the Disneyland Resort.
Gay Day 2, The Unofficial Gay Days at the Disneyland Resort is a "mix in.":
Tens of thousands of gays, lesbians, and their families and friends join the resort's other guests for a weekend of fun and fantasy. The Unofficial Gay Days at the Disneyland Resort weekend usually kicks off with a big dance at a local area hotel on Friday. Saturday is Gay Day at Disneyland and Sunday is Gay Day at DCA.
Because the opening of Haunted Mansion Holiday and Gay Days often coincides, crowds at the DLR during the first weekend of October are often substantial.
Thus far, they have not risen to the level necessary to force the closing of Disneyland's gates.
November thru December: The Merriest Place on Earth By Thanksgiving week, all the Disneyland Resort's holiday decorations are up and in place. Both Disneyland and DCA begin extended hours of operations.
Tip: Times have varied in recent years. You'll want to check the on-line Disneyland Resort Calendar frequently for updates.
For the past five years, the very popular Believe There's Magic in the Stars fireworks show has also given way to a special holiday pyrotechnic display called Believe In Holiday Magic. To the refrains of White Christmas, this annual favorite concludes each performance with a crowd-pleasing snow shower!!!!!!!
Be sure you get to Disneyland some time in the Fall And Winter when they make it SNOW on Main Street! It is such a treat to see the kids faces when the "surprise" happens! Check dates, but usually it starts the first week of November. It takes so many days to decorate you can even see holiday stuff going up before Halloween.
The busiest times of the holiday season at the Disneyland Resort are typically Thanksgiving week and the period between December 15 and New Year's Day. So popular have the holidays become at Disneyland that is has proven necessary to CLOSE the gates to the park on as many as five separate days during this time of year..
Keep a few things in mind in visiting Disneyland.
As always, weekdays are best for visiting the parks and shopping for souvenears and collectables.
Arrive early each day and ride as many rides as possible before late afternoon. Local guests will begin arriving as soon as school lets out just to see the holiday fireworks and snow shower show (assuming there is one this year).
January and February: The Dog Days of Winter Once again, during an average year, on the day after New Year's Day, the theme parks of the Disneyland Resort resume an off-season operating schedule. Hours are typically cut back and various shows, like Fantasmic,
stop performing or only run on weekends. The Haunted Mansion and Small World are once again closed to have their holiday overlays removed and various other attractions periodically drop out of service for refurbishment.
Tip: As with the period immediately following Labor Day, if you just can't stand crowds and long lines and don't mind missing a few rides, the period between New Year's Day and the start of the rolling Spring Break season may be a good time for you to schedule your vacation.
March and April: Without the Madness The Rolling Spring Break season at the Disneyland Resort begins in early March and lasts through Easter. This is the resort's first up-tick in traffic since the holiday season. Theme park hours are extended, shows resume a fuller schedule of performances, and fewer attractions are closed for refurbishment. That being said, with the possible exception of Easter Weekend, neither Disneyland nor DCA, in recent years, have ever come close to capacity during Spring Break season.
The Disneyland Resort is NOT a big Spring Break destination for America's college students. This is probably because Disneyland is alcohol free, and beer and wine in DCA are a bit pricey for college kids.
May thru November : Will probably see a slight drop-off in the total number of guests arriving at the Disneyland Resort.
The high-traffic season will begin with Memorial Day weekend and peak around the second week of August. Post-Labor Day and News Year's Day will be periods of both reduced visits by locals and operating hours at the theme parks. And the Christmas holiday and rolling Spring Break seasons should see increases in visits and operating hours.

Hot Tip: Note that there are TWO trams currently running from Disneyland to various destinations. Make sure you're climbing aboard the right one, before you end up at the wrong place...and don't hesitate to ask any nearby Disney Cast Member for help if you need it.
Disneyland's transportation system pales in comparison to that of WDW. On the other hand, with just a single theme park and two hotels, a complex transportation system isn't really warranted in California.
Essentially, there are four main things to be aware of regarding transportation at Disneyland:
Parking: Disneyland's parking lots charge $12 for the privilege. If you leave the parking lot, and return later in the day, your original parking stub is still valid. Keep it handy! Last, park annual passes include free parking, so take advantage of that feature (if you enter the parking lot and have to pay in order to go buy your passes which include free parking, ask the ticket seller for your refund.) [Note: A very large, new parking structure is being built that will actually have direct access to I-5 with tram service to the park.]
Monorail: The Monorail runs from a station in Tomorrowland to the Disneyland Hotel and back. Day visitors can take a ride just for fun, or you can disembark at the Hotel for an afternoon lunch or just a change of pace -- even if you're not staying at the resort!
Trams: Trams run to and from the park and the Disney-owned and operated hotels. They also run in the parking lot itself to help the leg weary get back to their cars at the end of a long day.
Lion King Tram (Timon/Pumba) - Runs from the Eastern side of the Disneyland entry plaza (near Harbor) to the parking lot South of the park and the hotels.
Pinocchio Tram - Runs from the Western side of the plaza (near West Street) to the parking lot that is North of the Disneyland Hotel.
Non-Disney Shuttle Buses: Non-Disney busses run from most of the area hotels to a bus station area just to the West of the main gate. It's very handy to use the shuttles instead of your own car...so find out if your hotel has such a service and what the schedule of runs is.
It really is necessary to have your own vehicle (or a rental) for some things. For example:
Day trips to non-Disney attractions such as Universal Studios Hollywood, Knott's Berry Farm, etc.
Meals at off-site restaurants.
Resort Hopping. Even though we usually stay off-site in California, we still enjoy driving over to the Disneyland Hotel, on occasion, for a meal or shopping or just to stroll.
How do I get there by car? Driving Directions :
From the Los Angeles Airport:
Follow the signs to SEPULVEDA BLVD SOUTH. Take I-105 E to I-605 N/S exit.
Merge onto I-605 N. Take I-5/SANTA ANA FWY towards Los Angeles/Santa Ana.
Merge onto I-5. Continue for 12.7 miles until you reach the DISNEYLAND DR exit toward BALL RD. Merge onto DISNEYLAND DR.
From the Ontario Airport:
Go E on EAST AIRPORT DR towards RENTAL CAR. Turn right on S HAVEN AVE. Take the CA-60 W ramp. Continue for 15.3 miles. Take CA-57 S towards Santa Ana.
Merge onto CA-57S. Take BALL RD exit. Turn right onto E BALL RD. Turn left onto DISNEYLAND DR.
Where can I nurse or find a quiet spot?
If you are a nursing mom or need a quiet space to change a diaper, there is a Mother's Room on Main Street. It's a place to sit and nurse baby, change diapers and have the staff heat a bottle for you, a quiet place away from the hustle and bustle (See below....) A real treat.
For a more extensive look at the restrooms and what they have to offer (Handicapped accessible, etc):
Potties : (written by Kevin & Adrienne Krock)
The North end of Main Street boasts two little known treasures worthy of our attention here. Also included here is a list of manual flush toilets in the park for those that prefer them.
Baby Care Center This little gem is a must for parents of infants and toddlers. To use the Baby Care Center, you will need to leave your stroller outside. The center is too small to accomodate them. Once inside, you will wait in a small lobby until a Cast Member invites you in and directs you to the location that will meet your child's needs. You and your child may be accompanied by 1 other adult.
The general area contains toys and four high chairs for feeding. There is a small kitchen for preparing formula and food - WITH FILTERED WATER FOR PREPARING FORMULA. If you find yourself needing some basic necessities, the Baby Care Center offers several for sale including:
Diaper wipes • Diapers $1 for one - in medium (pkg of 14, $7.80) and large (pkg of 10, $7.80)
Desitin • Carnation formula • Enfamil - Ready to feed • Sun screen • Pacifiers • Bottles • Powder • 5 flavors of Gerber baby food Should you need to nurse or bottle feed, the CMs will direct you behind a wall where several cushioned wicker chairs where a mother and child can quietly sit for a while. Should you need to change a wet or stinky little one, you will be directed to the back of the center. There you will find four cushioned changing tables with high sides and a velcro belt. They also have two small, very low toilets which are just the thing for potty trained or training toddlers.
Central First Aid
The First Aid Center is tucked away to the left of and behind the Baby Care Center. It is staffed during operating hours by registered nurses. Among its amenities are a handicapped accessible restroom and examination rooms. They also can provide aspirin, tylenol, band-aids and other items for weary and/or ailing guests, free of charge.
Manual Flush Toilets in the Park While automatic flush toilets may be wonderful for keeping restrooms clean,
they can be very intimidating to children. Automatic flush toilets rely on an electronic "eye" to determine when the toilet has been vacated and is ready to be flushed. Many children are too short for the electronic eye to detect when they are sitting on the toilet. This causes the toilet to flush while a child is sitting on it. The flusher can be "fooled" by placing a hand over the electronic eye which is usually on the wall behind the toilet.
Disneyland has manual flush toilets in some restrooms. Here is a list of those locations:
• AAA Kiosk on Main Street, U.S.A. (South of City Hall)
• Plaza Pavillion • Tiki Room • Hungry Bear Restaurant (not urinals)
• Matterhorn Way/Path to Alice (not urinals)
• Village Haus (not urinals)
• Big Thunder BBQ • Tom Sawyer's Island - Mill Dock • Tom Sawyer's Island - Fort • Club 33 Main Street Tomorrowland Fantasyland Mickey's Toontown Frontierland Adventureland New Orleans Square Critter Country Mickey & Friends Parking Garage

Plan about two days for each Theme Park and one or two nights for Downtown Disney? District. Make a list of Favorites that you want to do and see.
Can I visit both Theme Parks in one day?
One-day Tickets are only valid for one Theme Park, but you can hop from one Park to the other in the same day if:
You purchase a Multi-Day Park Hopper? Ticket * You are an Annual Passholder, or * You are a Hotels of the Disneyland Resort Guest with an Ultimate Park Hopper Ticket .
What do I pack when I come to visit the Disneyland Resort?
In Southern California, you can dress according to the seasons:
During the summer months, pack light clothing, shorts, bathing suits, sunscreen and a light jacket.
TIP- If you or your teenagers are going to do the Raging Rapids in Ca Adventure, pack big yard waste garbage bags they can wear to cover up their clothes, like a rain poncho. I can’t tell you how many families I have seen buying NEW clothes inside the park because they were soaking wet and the sun was setting and they were all freezing cold! This is one reason why they sell rain slickers before you get on the ride!
During the winter months, be prepared to dress in layers. Pack jeans and t-shirts or long-sleeved shirts for the day time, and a sweatshirt and heavy jacket for early mornings and evenings.
Come prepared for the unexpected. Pack an umbrella and the appropriate clothing in case the weather suddenly turns wet or unseasonably warm or cool.

Birthdays at the Disneyland Resort Anaheim resort offers extra touches and activities for special celebrations Tuesday, April 12, 2005 by Lisa Perkis, staff writer Going to Disneyland on your birthday is special enough, but with a little advance planning it can be an especially memorable day for you or a loved one, whether your guest of honor is turning 3 or 83. The best part about birthdays at the resort is that you need not spend a fortune to add a few festive touches to a birthday visit. Here are some ideas to help start your planning.
Birthday sticker Where: City Hall Cost: Free with admission Age Range: All ages The birthday sticker is the first step to a great Disneyland birthday, and the best part is its price: Free to guests of all ages. The sticker lets cast members (park employees) know you are celebrating your special day at the park. Many cast members single out birthday folks with special attention and greetings. It's an amazing thing, considering how many thousands of folks walk around the park with a birthday sticker.
The sticker can live on in a photo book or scrapbook as a reminder of a memorable day. Photo by Lisa Perkis.
Some cast members even lead crowds in a rousing chorus of ©¯Happy Birthday©˜ just to make someone's day special (or embarrass them to death.) One cast member led the whole crowd waiting for Fantasmic! in a birthday song for my 8°©year°©old daughter, who is just young enough to enjoy that sort of mass attention.
Worth the price? Nothing is better than a cool free sticker. The sticker is valid even if it's not the exact day of your birth.
Call from Goofy Where: City Hall Cost: Free Age Range: All ages While at City Hall for your birthday sticker, look for the old°©fashioned phone at the front desk. This is Goofy's private line to wish happy birthday to the lucky celebrant. Other phones around the resort can be patched to Goofy, such as the Disney Gallery phone in New Orleans Square, but the phone at City Hall is the ©¯official©˜ Goofy phone and the most fun to use.
Worth the price? It's another wonderful freebie one can get only at Disneyland.
Happiest Birthdays on Earth Where: Plaza Inn, Disneyland Cost: $10 per person (free for children under 2). Premium Annual Passholders get a 10 percent discount Age Range: Geared towards children 12 and under Priority Seating: Call Disney Dining at (714) 781°©3463 or stop by the Plaza Inn or City Hall This birthday celebration appeals more towards children than adults, though you can usually spot several young°©at°©hearts joining in the spirit. The structure of the party has changed little since it debuted three years ago at the Plaza Inn. The price includes a blank cake with sprinkles and frosting, punch and a plastic birthday drink cup, a party hat and a special sticker.
The party lasts about 40 minutes, and during that time, Pat E. Cake hosts the gathering with songs and comments on the lovely cakes the guests are decorating, competing for the top decorating prize. Of course, everyone wins¶Zthis is Disneyland, after all.
Worth the price? It's not something I would go back to year after year, but children really have a great time.
Birthday Bucket Where: Most resort restaurants at DL and DCA Cost: $20 Age range: Geared towards children 12 and under Birthday Buckets are widely available around the Resort, and are an alternative to the birthday party at the Plaza Inn. You can also purchase them through room service at any of the Disneyland Resort hotels. The buckets contain a small cake, a birthday pin, stickers, and a choice of toys
(depending on the bucket theme you choose). Birthday people under 10 should be the most excited about receiving a birthday bucket, though I have seen adults toting them around as well.
Worth the price? Twenty bucks seems a little steep, but the birthday pin is cute and a nice permanent keepsake. Plus, it is less expensive than paying for a party of three or more to go to the Happiest Birthdays on Earth at the Plaza Inn.
Complementary Birthday Dessert Where: Storytellers, Blue Bayou, Carnation Cafe Cost: Free with purchase of meal Age Range: All ages Priority Seating: Call Disney Dining at (714) 781°©3463 Several full service restaurants offer a complementary dessert and a happy birthday song with purchase of a meal. Storytellers at the Grand Californian is a nice place to have a family birthday; the menu is varied to appeal to all ages. The make°©it°©yourself pizza is fun for children, and the chocolate Mickey°©shaped dessert is available in a to°©go container if the birthday person is just too stuffed.
The Carnation Café is one of the unsung heroes of table–service restaurants at the resort and also provides a birthday dessert with purchase of a meal.
The comfort food served at the Café is excellent, and the view of Main Street is always entertaining; especially if you can book a table during a parade. The Blue Bayou, located in New Orleans Square, is a favorite restaurant for many guests. The perpetual evening and fireflies, plus that famous scent of the dank piratey water from the adjacent Pirates of the Caribbean attraction can add up to a fun atmosphere to celebrate a birthday with a complementary dessert. Keep in mind the overall meal costs more at the Blue Bayou than either Story Tellers or Carnation Café, and a seat at the coveted tables by the water requires a longer wait, even with priority seating.
Worth the price? If the birthday person is in the mood for a sit–down meal,
any one of these restaurants should do the job nicely.
Tortillas Where: Mission Tortilla Factory Tour Cost: Free with admission (and birthday sticker)
Age Range: One can never be too old for free tortillas This is a fun freebie that is totally unofficial and unpublicized by Disney's California Adventure park and Mission's Tortilla Factory. If cast members spot your birthday sticker, there is a very good chance they will give you a whole bag of hot, fresh tortillas as a yummy birthday gift. It's not a guaranteed thing, since the gift is unpublicized, but so far every birthday guest I have accompanied to the factory has received a bag. The key is not to demand, but to smile and flash the birthday sticker subtly. If cast members have enough tortillas, chances are good they will oblige.
Worth the price? Even if you don't get a whole stack, one nice warm tortilla says happy birthday in its own special way. Maseca!
Character Dining birthday parties Where: At various character dining locations around the resort.
Cost: Purchase of meal plus $5 per guest Age range: Geared towards kids 12 and under Priority Seating: Call Disney Dining at (714) 781–3463 Book a dining reservation at Goofy's Kitchen and for an additional $5 per person, each guest receives a birthday hat, plate, cup, and goodie bag with a toy and a Goofy pen. The birthday person receives a cupcake, but a whole cake for the entire party requires an extra fee (see below.)
The Lilo and Stitch Aloha Breakfast at the PCH Grill in the Paradise Pier Hotel provides a party set–up with party hat, plate, cups, and small bag with a little treat inside for $5 above the cost of the buffet. The Royal Disney Princess Breakfast at the Plaza Inn also provides the birthday favor bags, hats, and plates at the same price.
If you are interested in having a whole birthday cake at any of the on-property hotel restaurants, Disney Dining takes orders at the same time you book your priority seating, up to 60 days in advance and no later than 72 hours in advance. A 10–inch round cake, which serves up to 14 guests,
sets you back $23.50. A quarter sheet is $38 and serves up to 21 guests. The baking kitchen personalizes the cake with specific colors and put the birthday person's name on it. The kitchen even delivers the cake to the hotel restaurant of your choice in time for the birthday person to blow out the candles.
Worth the price? As far as the birthday party set–ups go, it depends on your feelings about character meals. If the guest of honor loves to visit with the characters and eat buffet meals, $5 more per person doesn't seem like a lot to get that little extra birthday flourish. The Goofy's Kitchen party favors are more substantial, so keep that in mind when deciding on which character meal to book. If the birthday person would rather eat a more traditional meal without Pluto sticking his nose into the soup, perhaps a whole cake ordered for the end of the meal is the way to go.
Build-a-Bear Workshop Where: Downtown Disney Cost: Prices start at $10 per guest Age Range: geared towards children and young teens Reservations: Call 1 (877) 789–2327 (toll-free)
Alhough not in Disneyland park itself, Build-a-Bear Workshop may be a good option for birthday kids looking for a hands–on party experience. The entire upstairs area of the building is reserved for private groups, which is helpful, since the lower floor is usually chaotic and crowded. A ©¯party leader©˜ helps guests create a bear (or other creature). They then ©¯fluff©˜ it
(add stuffing), name it, and create a personalized birth certificate.
Outfits and accessories are additional. The down side to a Build-a-Bear party is that they do not allow food or drinks in the party area, so a birthday cake is out. The same goes for outside gifts. The Downtown Disney Build-a-Bear is extremely busy, so they recommend booking a party three to four months in advance.
Worth the price? If one can overlook the non°©Disney aspect to Build-a-Bear,
this is a great birthday party alternative, especially since each birthday guest goes home with a fuzzy, tangible memory of the day. It's also a good alternative for older kids and teens.
Club Libby Lu Where: Downtown Disney Cost: Prices vary from $20 to $30 per girl Age Range: Children (girls) under 13 Reservations: Call (714) 772°©3793 One of the newer additions to Downtown Disney, Club Libby Lu appeals strictly to girls under 13. It may not appeal to parents wanting to delay pre°©occupation with makeup, hair and clothes in their 6°year old daughter,
but seeing how crowded the store has been since it has opened, those parents appear to be in the minority. The shop offers a ¯Very Important Princess˜ birthday party with prices starting at $20 per child for a Libby Du, with accessories to complete the look, and party favors in a small backpack.
A deposit is required when booking a party, but there is no minimum number of party guests required.
Worth the Cost? According to MousePlanet's message boards, this store has some ardent fans and equally ardent detractors. Strictly a parent's call on this one.

If you would like a meal in peace and quiet, and a bit of romance (if there is such a thing at Disneyland) eat at The Blue Bayou, it is inside the beginning of the Pirates of Caribbean on the water. It is dark and pretty quiet. We had a child who slept through dinner in there and we relaxed.
Here is some info on The Blue Bayou, book as soon as you get into the park!
This celebrated New Orleans-style bayou-side eatery features down-home Louisiana cookin' and a moonlit ambience that is world-renown.

Tips from me and quotes from guests I have interviewed:
Often times the California Adventure Park closes before the Disneyland park. It is fun to run over there and see the last parade of the night (Especially if it is The Electric Light parade!).
But as soon as the last float passes you by, RUN back to the Disneyland Park if you are planning to go back for the remainder of the night. Almost ALL of the California Adventure Park empties out at closing time and everyone goes back into the Disneyland park. Unfortunately, everyone HAS to show their tickets again and you may have to wait more than an hour to get back in the park you only left a half an hour before.
Go on your favorite rides during the big parades and fireworks shows. Most of the lines go way down during show times.
Safety first: We put a BIG sticker on each child that says " If lost please call_______ (with our cell number). Put the sticker on their back so they can't pull it off.
For older kids and adults,
always have a meeting place in case you lose each other. We meet at The Walt Disney Statue at the end of Main street., you can get there in 5 minutes from anywhere in the park.
If stickers don't work with your child,
and you are still afraid they will get lost, take a permanent black marker and write your cell phone number on their arm or back of their hand. But remember this will be written on them for about a week, it is hard to wash off.
If you need to bring a stroller, I suggest bringing a cheap "umbrella"
stroller or renting one from them for $15. Our friends expensive Graco stroller was stollen when we were on a ride and never returned!!
You can always bring a lock but that is a bit of a pain. They now bring their $10 Target stroller and leave it at a certain place in the park almost ALL day. When a child gets tired, someone goes back to find the stroller and brings it back. That way they are not Looking for their stroller all day and wondering where it is when they get off a ride since the start of a ride can be much further than the end of the ride. If your kids are like many and really won't get in it until they are VERY tired, just leave it somewhere. But as I said, lock it up or bring a cheapy.
You can also get a discount of you rent a stroller or wheel chair there if you tell them you will be renting for more than one day, they will give you coupons for the other days.
Also, rent from the other rental locations in the park, NOT right when you get in , the lines are HUGE!
ALL Fast Past tickets are free with any ticket.
You can get a fast pass ticket to save some time in lines at the best rides. You just go to the ride and put your Disneyland ticket into a machine and it gives you your ticket back, PLUS a ticket with a time on it that tells you when to go back for the ride. Save the Fast Pass ticket because that is what you will need to cut ahead in line in front of everyone else.
There will be other people in the fast pass line with you, so you will have to wait a few minutes, but not hours.
You can also go to another ride and get a Fast Pass ticket for another ride so you can be waiting for 2 rides at once. But usually you can only have one fast pass and then you will need to wait 2 more hours until you can go get another fast pass for another ride. For example, You can get a fast pass for Indiana Jones that says to come back in 3 hours. So if you wait 2 more hours you can go to another ride Like Buzz Lightyear and claim another fast pass that you can then go to after you get off of the Indiana Jones Ride. When you get the first pass there will be a time at the bottom which tells you when you are allowed to go claim another fast pass for another ride.
There are fastpass machines that are not connected to the network so you can get two fastpasses without the wait I.E. the startours fastpass is one you can get along with an ordinary fastpass.Check which machines that day are not on the network.
And there is a product called Ridemax that really shortens the lines wait to mere minutes if at all. You can find it at ridemax.com.
Also, if you have a family of 4 tickets but they don't all need the fast pass, put all 4 tickets in the fast pass machine so you can go on the ride 4 times, quickly. Just remember they won't be able to get any fast passes probably for 2 more hours. This works great if you have little kids or older people that wouldn't be going on these rides anyway.
Another great line saving time is the parents with toddler trick. If one parent stands in line for any Adult ride and the other parent is stuck outside with a baby or toddler, the parent in line can go on the ride and then go sit with the baby and then the other parent can go on the ride without waiting in line. Ask an employee where the parents go to the front of the line. It's called kid's swap.
If you want to see Minnie's House in Toontown,
Just go right in. But often times she will be standing in the doorway to take pictures with the kids.
This creates a huge line! To avoid the line, if you don't care about seeing Minnie (or your child is scared of characters),
just go around the house to the back door and go in.
If you want to see Mickey in his house, you can go in and then you will have to wait at the end of his house to get in to his "Film studio" and have a photo with him. At both places when the characters are there Disney will take a photo you can later buy. But they will also let you use your own camera.
Shopping discounts can be found at http://disneyshopping.go.com and www.ams-liquidation.com.
To save the cost of The Character Autograph book, buy one before you go.
They are $7 to $10 each at Disney, and that adds up if you have more than one child. You can get them cheaper at stores like Target, etc. OR you can just bring a small spiral notepad, put a Mickey sticker on it if your child will be suspicious that it is a fake ;o) Be sure to bring pens!
Also buy fun Disney items at the dollar store but don't give them to the kids until they are in Disneyland. Take them out once in a while and they think we just bought something pricey at a Disney store.
You can also get licensed Disney clothes and toys at 75% off at Disneydirect.com. This is a Disney site with a lot of CHEAP deals! There is also the Disney's Character Outlet Warehouse. Located near the park, it is Disney's theme park liquidation store. Location 243 Orangefair Mall, Fullerton, CA 92832 Website: http://www.shopdolphinmall.com/IM/storedetail.html?store=Z286 You can also buy sweatshirts and T shirts with Disney characters on them for more than HALF of what Disney charges for them at the discount hotels around the park. Keep in mind they are NOT licensed Disney items, but the kids won't know, as long as their favorite character is on it ;o)
What is Disneymagic.net?
Disneymagic.net is a Internet radio that play Disney-genre sound loops 24 hours a day, seven days a week Disney music.
You can find this music by going to Disneymagic.net and listen through LIVE365. [You will have to download the LIVE365 player.]
In general, you will hear:
* Background music you would hear only in the theme parks.
* Complete audio tracks of the present attractions
* Vintage audio from previous attractions
* The entire programs from Wishes, Fantasmic, Illuminations, and yes, Sorcery in the Sky
* Parades
* Other audio such as Disney Cruise Line audio and anything else Disney
Imagine first thing in the morning clicking on DisneyMagic.net and hear the opening for Magic Kingdom, or tuning in at night to listen to the entire audio track of Illuminations: Reflections of Earth. ****Once in the LA area, you can tune into Radio Disney AM 1110! A super fun station!
If you want to go to The character breakfast in Disneyland hotel at Goofy's kitchen, call the night before! It gets to be over a 2 hour wait in the morning! Just when you want to be in the park! 714-781-Dine
If you are in town a week but don't need to do the parks everyday, take a Saturday or Sunday off and go on Monday when it is much less crowded. Or go see some of LA!
If you get to town at night and haven't bought your tickets yet, just spend the evening in downtown Disney. It is right at the Main gates and is kid friendly. It is also a great time to choose your places to eat and make reservations for the entire week. (They also have great bars for those of you who need a drink! And don't have children with you)
Most of the shops and food on Main Street stay open after the park closes for about an hour. You can do your shopping then so that you don't have to carry things around all day. Again, ask an employee what time they will be closing that particular store since hours change from day to day.
Make your reservations for restaurants the day before or even BEFORE you leave on your trip.( You can look at all the menus in this guide or book online at disneyland.com.) Downtown Disney has lots of great places to eat, but once you walk out of the park, you are IN downtown Disney, along with everyone else who was in the park. You will have to wait more than an hour for a table, even if it's 10:00 at night. And you and your kids will be so tired already!
The Dole pineapple treats offered outside of The Tiki Room are wonderful and there is almost always a line to buy food there. Just step back into the Tiki Room Courtyard (Where people are waiting to go into the show) and you can buy pineapple treats there, then you can just leave, you don't have to go in to see the show. Or better yet, sit down there and relax while you eat your treat. Just because you are waiting there does NOT mean you need to go into the show.
The Dole pineapple stand is one of the only healthy QUICK snacks in the park. There is also a nice fruit stand in Adventure land, before you walk down the hill to the Winnie The Pooh Ride.
To save some money on food, order the kids meals, they are almost always full serving sizes and often come with a little toy or cup you can take home. Much cheaper than buying an adult meal. Also, don't be afraid to bring food into the park! You can put it in a backpack, put it under your stroller or put it in a locker. The savings here are huge!!!!!!!
RIDES:
Nemo Subs update:
On the surface things seem to be moving forward quickly at Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage as it enters the home stretch for a summer opening. Inside the lagoon, painting has moved forward quite a bit since we last saw into the lagoon (the reopening of the monorail allows views, though they are obstructed. Animatronic sea creatures are being installed, and some of the submarine names are visible to peering eyes).
The updated Pirates of the Caribbean is lots of fun! Go STRAIGHT there when the gates open so you don't have to wait. Here is the latest from disney.com:

Visit DisneyParkPirates.com to learn more about the enhanced Pirates of the Caribbean attraction!
The other newest ride is The Monsters Inc Ride. The ride is very slow and boring.
Great for little babies but NOT worth standing in line for it. It's along the lines of the Winnie The Pooh ride but not nearly as cute and there are no visual effects. I'd save the time in line at something more fun.
One of the other newest rides at Disneyland is the interactive Buzz Lightyear ride in Tomorrow Land. The ride is great, even for little kids. You get a laser tag gun and shoot at neon signs and your car keeps score for you. Even the dad's love this one! Get a Fast Pass if you happen to be in TomorrowLand, this line gets LONG! A Fast Pass ticket may even tell you to come back in 3 hours! Your best bet is to get to the park right at opening time and run for the ride. You may then be able to ride 3 times back to back without ever having to wait!

This is a lot of info to take in, read it again when you can, it's worth it! And Have a blast! Thanks 8{:^) THIS IS THE END OF YOUR DISNEY GUIDE. I HOPE IT HELPS YOU SAVE A TON. THE NEXT SECTION IS ONLY FOR THOSE WHO WANT THE INFO ON THE SECRET CLUB IN DISNEYLAND, CLUB 33.
About Club 33, The EXCLUSIVE Club at Disneyland. From Mouseplanet.com: Membership Has Its Privileges Disneyland's "secret" Club 33 provides exclusive experience Stewart J. is a familiar face to the regular visitors at MousePlanet's MousePad discussion board, posting as “Steamboat Stu.” Stewart recently joined a very elite club of Disneyphiles by becoming a member of the Disneyland's exclusive Club 33, located in New Orleans Square and tucked away upstairs from the Blue Bayou Restaurant.
Stewart waited patiently for three and a half years, until Disneyland finally contacted him and invited him to join Club 33. Today, Stewart shares his experience—and excitement—about becoming a member of Disneyland's elite club.
How did you go about letting Disneyland know you wanted to be on the Club 33 waiting list?
Having no idea how to get on the waiting list, I did what any Disney fan would do—I went to city hall. They gave me Disneyland's address, and instructed me to send it “Attn: Club 33.” I then simply sent a letter requesting to be added to the waiting list; there was no form to fill out.
How long did you have to wait on the wait list? How long have you been a member?
We decided to add our name to the Club 33 waiting list in 1997. I had heard that the wait could be quite extensive—some had said as many as 10 years—so we decided to add our name to the list without financial consideration. Notification came via a package in the mail June of this year (good thing I included a return address in my letter). I was given a little less than a month to decide—and we took the whole month to come to this decision. We dined there for the first time on June 27, 2001, our 14th wedding anniversary. What made you decide to become a member? How tough was your decision to pay for a membership?
This was not an easy decision to make! Unlike some of the members I have met, we are by no means wealthy. The $7,500 initiation fee was manageable but would certainly be felt. However, the lure of belonging to a club that Walt himself intended to use for entertaining dignitaries was very strong.
And although we were only on the waiting list for three and a half years, there is no guarantee that a similar wait would get us to the top of the list again. So all that was left was how to justify the expenditure in our own mind. Since country club memberships are similar in price, if not more, the question is, would you rather have a membership to play at a golf course or be at Disneyland? In our case, we chose Disneyland.
What type of membership do you have? When we signed onto the waiting list there was a choice of two memberships: corporate or individual. We, of course, chose individual. Now there are Corporate, Limited Company, Gold and Silver memberships. I am a Gold member. Has anything changed now that you are a member?
Club 33 membership has allowed me to let two of my annual passes expire. Like premium APs, we get admission to both parks with no blockout days, regardless of whether we dine at the club or not. We no longer have to deal with the parking structures and all their headaches. Parking for members is the valet at the Grand Californian. Membership also includes a subscription to the Disney magazine and a Disney Club card.
I was under the impression that Club 33 memberships did not include admission into the park unless you dined at the club on the day of your park visit. No. The membership permits the actual member and one guest to enter both parks 365 days a year, without having to dine at the club. However, guests of members who are admitted into the park must dine at the Club, or the members are charged for the guests' admission tickets.
Do you find that all your acquaintances are “best buddies” who want to dine there?
Surprisingly this has not been the case. Other than true Disney fans, no one really knows the club exists. The friends and acquaintances that are Disney fans have been very respectful. Club 33 membership is a privilege, not a right. The rules do state that it can be revoked without compensation and most people seem to understand this.
Several months ago a member on MousePlanet's MousePad discussion board started a discussion, asking about a unique way to propose at Disneyland. He was against the tried-and-true areas but rather, looking for a unique, unvisited area to propose in a more personal manner. Since my proposal to my wife was completely unromantic, his romantic intentions caught my eye. After several private message exchanges, I had decided that this person would be the first one I would leave a Club 33 reservation and Disneyland tickets for. He proposed that following day on the balcony overlooking New Orleans Square, and I received a thankful message the day after his successful proposal. This is how I would like to use my membership. If I can leave such an indelible memory with a true Disney fan or cast member, then I feel that I am honoring Walt's true intentions for the club. I have read many MousePad posts from people who desire to dine at Club 33, but I have a difficult time distinguishing those who are truly looking to create an everlasting Disney memory from those who just want to add a notch to their Disneyland accomplishments belt.
Stewart noted that other Club 33 members are finding creative ways to use their memberships: “I noticed on eBay a fellow member has auctioned of the right to dine at Club 33. It included club reservations and four Disneyland tickets, food and drink not included.” Before you get upset that people are making money off of their Club 33 memberships, note that this auction had permission from Disney, as every penny of the auction was going directly to a non-profit charity. The winning auction price? $451!
Stewart looked into this himself as a possible way to help out a good cause and to also get some of the money back via a tax deduction. Stewart contacted the person who placed the auction on eBay, and learned that the person had a signed letter from the Walt Disney Company giving him permission to do fundraisers this way. The charity he supports is also the benefactor of the annual Ducks in Tux event sponsored by the Anaheim Ducks professional hockey team, which is owned by Disney. The rules that come with the membership explicitly state that you cannot charge anyone for the use of the club. “If I attempted to do this for any charity without Disney's permission I risk losing my membership,” said Stewart.
Stewart recently received an invitation for his first special event. Club 33 was celebrating Walt's 100th birthday on November 19 with a special meal and speakers to share personal remembrances of Walt, including insights into the man behind the Mouse. The evening included a secret behind-the-scenes walking tour.
I bet Stewart had a great time!
MEMBERSHIP INFO The listing below is current as of November 2001, and is courtesy of Club 33 member Stewart. It is all subject to change; if you are interested in joining, contact Disneyland directly for the most up-to-date information.
Currently there are two types of memberships, Corporate and Individual, and there are approximately 400 members altogether at this time.
There are no "sabbaticals" or time off; that is, once you become a member, you cannot become inactive for a year, then re-sign. This, says Stewart, makes sense. "If you have a three year list of people ready and willing to part with $10,000 of their hard earned cash, why allow someone to take time off?" Corporate Memberships Initial fee: $20,000 nonrefundable Annual dues: $5525 for primary charter member, $4175 per additional associate member (up to nine permitted)
